September 16th is officially National Guacamole Day, and honestly⊠what better excuse do we need to celebrate everyoneâs favorite dip? Whether youâre team chunky or team smooth, cilantro lover or cilantro hater, guacamole is one of those foods that sparks big opinions (and big cravings).
So how did guacamole get its very own holiday? Well, the day lines up perfectly with Mexican Independence Day (also on September 16th). Since guacamole has deep roots in Mexican cultureâthe Aztecs were making âahuaca-mulliâ (literally âavocado mixtureâ) centuries agoâit only made sense to dedicate a day to this iconic, avocado-based dish. Over time, it grew in popularity worldwide, and now we all get to celebrate with chips in hand.
The best part? There are so many ways to make it your own. Some people keep it classic with avocado, lime, salt, and onion. Others get creativeâadding things like roasted corn, mango, pomegranate seeds, or even bacon. Yes, bacon.
Weâd love to hear from you:
- Do you have a go-to guacamole recipe?
- Whatâs your secret ingredient (if youâre willing to spill it)?
- Do you like it mild, spicy, or somewhere in between?
- And most importantlyâwhatâs your favorite thing to dip into it? Chips, veggies, tacos⊠or all of the above?
đž Bonus points: Share a picture of your guac masterpiece or a recipe so others can try it out! Who knows, we might just inspire someoneâs next taco night.
Happy Guacamole Day, 10K Voices famânow letâs taco âbout your guac! đźđ„
