September 16th is officially National Guacamole Day, and honestly
what better excuse do we need to celebrate everyone’s favorite dip? Whether you’re team chunky or team smooth, cilantro lover or cilantro hater, guacamole is one of those foods that sparks big opinions (and big cravings).

So how did guacamole get its very own holiday? Well, the day lines up perfectly with Mexican Independence Day (also on September 16th). Since guacamole has deep roots in Mexican culture—the Aztecs were making “ahuaca-mulli” (literally “avocado mixture”) centuries ago—it only made sense to dedicate a day to this iconic, avocado-based dish. Over time, it grew in popularity worldwide, and now we all get to celebrate with chips in hand.

The best part? There are so many ways to make it your own. Some people keep it classic with avocado, lime, salt, and onion. Others get creative—adding things like roasted corn, mango, pomegranate seeds, or even bacon. Yes, bacon.

We’d love to hear from you:

  • Do you have a go-to guacamole recipe?
  • What’s your secret ingredient (if you’re willing to spill it)?
  • Do you like it mild, spicy, or somewhere in between?
  • And most importantly—what’s your favorite thing to dip into it? Chips, veggies, tacos
 or all of the above?

📾 Bonus points: Share a picture of your guac masterpiece or a recipe so others can try it out! Who knows, we might just inspire someone’s next taco night.

Happy Guacamole Day, 10K Voices fam—now let’s taco ‘bout your guac! đŸŒźđŸ„‘
